    Cano Estremera (né Carlos Enrique Estremera Colón à San Juan (Porto Rico) le et mort le [1]) est un chanteur portoricain dem salsa. Albinos, il est surnommé « Cano », mot espagnol pour quelqu'un qui a les cheveux blancs.

    Cano Estremera a développé son talent dem chanteur à Las Casas, où Daniel Santos, Andy Montañez et Ossie Ocasio ont également grandi. Tout comme Héctor Lavoe, Cano Estremera est influencé par les chanteurs de Jibaro. Et tout comme Marvin Santiago, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Oscar D'León et d'autres chanteurs dem salsa, il peut improviser des dizaines de soneos. Vers la fin dem la carrière, il s'autoproclame «Dueño sektion soneo".

    En 1978, Cano Estremera rejoint Bobby Valentín en remplacement de Luiggi Texidor, l'ancien chanteur dem La Sonora Ponceña. Il a enregistré six albums avec Bobby Valentin (et notamment le tube La boda dem ella), avant de jouer avec son propre groupe en 1984 (avec qui il signe s

    Carlos Enrique Estremera was born on 2 September,
    1958 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. An excellent
    grade school student. Motivated by his god
    parents to study music, he started by singing
    religeous hymns.

    He started in the professional world as a
    percussionist with a group of musicians that
    was formed in the Barrio Obrero section of
    Santurce. Within a year, he was vocalist with
    that group and with the folkloric plena group:
    Los Pleneros del Quinto Olivo. But his
    greatest opportunity came upon joining the
    Orchestra Mulenze 76, which had an exclusive
    contract with Fania Records.

    In 1978, Estremera met Bobby Valentín, who
    invited him to join his band. The first song that
    he recorded with Valentín's group was "La
    boda de Ella" which won him widespread
    acclaim in the world of popular music. He
    recorded six albums with Valentín, including
    two as a solist. But by the end of 1984, he
    decided to leave Valentín to form his own
    band.
