    Host, broadcast journalist and occasional actress Maria Menounos gained notoriety with her work as an entertainment news correspondent and her engaging personality on the red carpet. A former Miss Massachusetts Teen USA, she focused on broadcast journalism while enrolled at Emerson College, during which time she began working as a reporter for the educational satellite news program "Channel One News." Upon graduation, Menounos was recruited by "Entertainment Tonight" (syndicated, 1981- ) in 2002, where she remained until moving to "Access Hollywood" (syndicated, 1996- ) in 2005.     Maria Menounos (mə-NOO-nohss; Greek: Μαρία Μενούνος[maˈri.ameˈnunos]; born June 8, 1978) is an American television host. She has hosted Extra and E! News; she was a TV correspondent for Today, Access Hollywood, and co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, Greece. She also co-created and is currently CEO of online podcast series network AfterBuzz TV. She is currently signed to WWE where she has served as an ambassador since 2013, having even competed in some tag team events as a pro since 2009. Menounos has faced two major health challenges in recent years: a brain tumor in 2017 and a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2023.

    For the pancreatic cancer, she underwent a grueling 10-hour surgery to remove part of her pancreas, her spleen, 17 lymph nodes, and a massive fibroid. Thankfully the procedure was successful. During this time, she also took on new roles as a mother and health advokat.
