    Kumu Hōkūlani Haila Hiʻileialiʻi Holt Padilla was born on Oʻahu and raised on Maui. Her maternal side stems from Nuʻu in the district of Kaupō. Later, her family moved to Kahakuloa and Wailuku where her grandmother was born.
