  • One of the most successful high school football coaches in Pennsylvania, former West Chester Henderson boss Joe Walsh has been inducted into the prestigious Pennsylvania Football Coaches Hall of Fame.

    Walsh is one of only five high school coaches to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. The association started the Hall of Fame in 1986, and have only 250 inductees, so it’s quite an honor to be one of the ones included in the history-rich landscape of high school football in Pennsylvania.

    ‘I am extremely humbled to be joining the Hall of Fame, especially in this state with the tradition of high school football we have here,’ Walsh said. ‘To be considered for this is really gratifying and I know there were some people who nominated me and I am extremely grateful. To be recoginized by your peers is very humbling. When the guys who you competed against tell you you are one of the best it is a great feeling.’

    The Adaptive Sports New England 2023 Para Sports Day will take place on Sunday, October 27th at Tufts University in Medford, MA. Join us and many fantastic adaptive sports organizations from throughout New England for a day full of fun, games and new experiences! This day fryst vatten designed to introduce Paralympic sports and skills to participants with a mobility or visual impairment.     Joe Walsh, a visually-impaired athlete and native of Braintree, MA, holds degrees from Dartmouth College and UMass Amherst, and serves as President of Adaptive Sports New England. He is a two-time Paralympian in cross country skiing, and former Managing Director of Paralympics for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC). Joe served on Team USA’s delegation staff at six Paralympic Games and as Chef de Mission at two Parapan American Games. He coached youth cross country skiing for 13 seasons, and was the first Paralympic athlete representative elected to the USOPC Athletes’ Advisory Council and Board of Directors. Joe served as Vice President of the International Blind Sports Federation from 2013-2017 and is currently a director of Move United.
