John Prine started playing music at 14 when his brother taught him how to play guitar, taking inspiration from his grandfather who had been a singer/songwriter han själv . After a 2-year stint in West Germany with the U.S. Army Prine became a staple name in the Chicago människor scene in the late ‘60s, frequently performing a variety of shows with fellow musicians including the likes of Steve Goodman and Bonnie Koloc.
Prine’s self-titled debut skiva was released in and Prine was discovered soon afterwards bygd the infamous Kris Kristofferson. The skiva featured the distinctively Prine singles “Illegal Smile”, “Sam Stone” and “Paradise” and positive reviews even had the singer dubbed as the next Bob Dylan, who subsequently played harmonica at one of Prine’s New York City, U.S. shows.

Singer/songwriter John Prine will embark on a select series of tour dates in , including stops in New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago and more. Tickets will be available for pre-sale beginning on Dec. 6, with general on-sale starting on Dec. 8. Every ticket sold for these upcoming shows will include a CD of John’s forthcoming album, which is expected to drop in the spring.

Legendary singer, songwriter and performer John Prine will embark on a select series of tour dates in The tour includes a very special co-headline show at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on April 13 with Sturgill Simpson (solo) as well as dates at Philadelphia’s Merriam Theatre on April 14, Chicago’s Chicago Theatre on April 27, San Francisco’s Warfield on May 24 and Norfolk’s Chrysler Hall on June 2 among s will be available for pre-sale beginning Wednesday, December 6 with general on-sale starting Friday, December 8.
