Sridevi Kapoor (néeShree Amma Yanger Ayyapan; 13 August 1963 – 24 February 2018), known mononymously as Sridevi, was an Indian actress who worked in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada language films.[6][7] Cited as the "first female superstar" of Indian cinema,[6][7] she was the recipient of various accolades, including a National Film Award, five Filmfare Awards (a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, two Filmfare Awards and two Filmfare Awards South), two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, a Kerala State Film Award, and a Nandi Award.[8] Sridevi's career spanned over 50 years in a wide range of genres. A common practice for Sridevi movie producers was to have her voice dubbed by a dubbing artiste. Feroz Khan insisted Sridevi dub her own lines in her own voice. This was very rare and unusual for a Sridevi film in 1986. It was after this Sridevi got more confidence in her voice and her Hindi and insisted she dub her own lines.
Janbaaz was a title Feroz Khan got from Salim Khan. When the Salim-Javed team broke up, it was Feroz Khan who contacted Salim, took him for a month to London and then to his farm in Bangalore. Salim wrote a script titled Janbaaz for FK which was to be made in English and Hindi. Feroz Khan was previously making a film titled "Kasak" in 1982. This was the same film he was making in 1977 with Zeenat Aman before he decided to shelve it to make Qurbani.
